Central MN SHRM invites you to join us for our annual half day event on Thursday, May 28th from 8:30am - 2:00pm. 

This will be an engaging Legal Workshop focused on real-world scenarios. This session will cover case studies, recent legal updates, and will wrap up with an interactive discussion and Q&A.

Agenda:

  • 8:30am - 9:00am - Registration & Check-In
  • 9:00am - 1:15pm - 3 Working Sessions
    • Learning from Experience: HR Insights from Employee Litigation - A discussion focused on practical lessons, risk management and prevention strategies based on real litigation experience. 
    • Legal Updates and Practical HR Guidance - A high level updated on recent legal changes and key HR compliance issues, with a focus on the role of documentation in reducing risk. 
    • Q&A and Case Studies - Interactive discussion of real-world scenarios, analyzing where employers succeeded and where they fell short
  • 1:15pm - 2:00pm - Networking


Attorney Betsey Lund Ross received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her Juris Doctor from Mitchell Hamline School of Law. She received the CALI award for the highest grade in her Employment Law and Tax Law classes. She was also awarded First Place in the American Bar Association Regional Representation in Mediation Moot Court Competition.

During law school, Betsey was a litigation clerk for the League of Minnesota Cities in St. Paul, Minnesota. After graduating from law school, Betsey worked as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Jodi L. Williamson in Olmsted County (Rochester, Minnesota). Prior to establishing Revermann Lund Ross, Betsey worked as an Associate Attorney for a local law firm and then established Revermann Lund Ross in June 2014. In 2013, Betsey was selected as a "5 Under 40" by the St. Cloud Times for her civic involvement and innovation in the legal community.

Betsey practices in the areas of employment law (representing and consulting employers), business law, and estate planning. In the employment field, Betsey has represented and assisted employers with discrimination claims, breach of contract claims, Family Medical Leave Act disputes, Americans with Disabilities (ADA) disputes, wrongful termination claims, and independent contractor/employee classifications. Betsey also assists clients with the day to day questions and concerns human resource professionals and employers have when handling employee and applicant matters.

  • $50 for CMSHRM and Local MN SHRM Chapter Members
  • $75 for Non-Members
